Is the island spoilt by Mass Tourism?
No. Thanks to foresight of the residents, tourism has been designated to certain areas of the island and is strictly controlled, with no high rise buildings. The majority of the island is unaffected by the influx. What is more, Lanzarote is privileged to be designated as a biosphere, as a result of its incredible and unique geography

    Is Lanza Grotty?
This unfortunate Lanzagrotty catchphrase is all too well known in the United Kingdom and is used by many who have never visited the island. True, the island does have a few mass tourist centres with contingent facilities but Lanzarote is actually designated as a “biosphere” which is something very special. The island is a beautiful example of a volcanic island and has flora and fauna which occur nowhere else.

Are all the beaches black sand?
No, not at all. There are beaches of all sand colours. There are some black sand beaches and they are very attractive. The majority of beaches are golden in colour and in the north there is even some white sand. Beach Pictures

He was instrumental, with others in defining a tourism development policy and was commissioned by the island?s government to design and build a series of eco-architecture attractions reflecting the environmental character of Lanzarote. Anything that bears his name is well worth a visit. See his work
