It is also extremely powerful for relaxation, and as an anti-stress treatment. It consists of manual stimulation of muscles, skin, nerve system and circulation. There are three basic forms of massage:
- Therapeutic massage as a treatment for muscular pains and stiffness of muscles and joints,
- Relaxation massage, which is more concentrated on rebalancing body energy and stress release,
- Sports massage used for warming up before- or cooling down after sporting.Depending on the problem and the type of massage given, various types of techniques are used, like stroking, kneading, stretching, friction, pressure, vibration and more.
- Massage helps to improve body posture and alleviate pain and stiffness. It activates the brain to release a hormone called serotonine, which gives a feeling of well being.
